The PSPPD is located within the
National Planning Commission (NPC) which is responsible for developing a draft long-term vision and strategic plan for South Africa, but also works closely with DPME.
The Programme Coordination Unit (PCU) is responsible for overall programme management and manages the research grants directly, and for oversight of the Monitoring and Learning Facility (MLF).
